LET’S MAKE YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY PART OF YOUR ELOPEMENT

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED LIVE-STREAMING?

Live streaming will give, the people that are not able to fly with you, the chance to be part of your big day.

They can gather around their house, hook up a projector, grab a few cocktails, and celebrate with you at a distance.
I know, you are probably already hiring a videographer to capture your day and so your family and friends will be able to watch that edit. But there’s something special to watching events LIVE that it’s just lacking on an edit. On the other hand, as the word says, the other video will be “edited”, so it will lack the RAW feeling and emotion of the LIVE MOMENT.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT
LIVE STREAMING?

Ernest Puaa, Maui minister.

1. GET A LINK IN ADVANCE

You’ll need to share this link with lots of people in advance so you are not stressing about it the day of.

Just ask your provider for it well in advance so you can relax and enjoy it. At LEAST, one week ahead.
But being honest, if they are really professionals, you shouldn’t even have to ask for it.

2. CHOOSING THE RIGHT SETUP FOR YOU

Usually, videographers will offer a few different setups for you to choose from.
The big question is; are you OK with just a one-camera setup to show the ceremony, or do you want a three-camera setup that shows a center angle, as well as a bride, and a groom shot?

The three-camera setup is great to show the emotions of the bride and groom, as well as a close-up of them, reading their vows.
The one-camera is usually a wide shot of the bride walking down the aisle and then moves to a semi-tight-shot of the officiant, bride, and groom during the ceremony.

3. HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO

If the live stream doesn’t have any professional audio setup (like wireless microphones), then it’s not even worth it. Yes, it will be beautiful watching the ceremony, but if you are not able to hear clearly it misses its purpose.

4. RELIABILITY

How do you know that it will work? Well, depending on the area, you don’t. Especially if it’s a remote elopement location where you have to rely on the phone’s network connection. And maybe there’s none in that particular ceremony spot, so what happens if the Live Stream does not work?

Well, just ask your provider in advance so there are no surprises.
In my case, my clients will get a rush ceremony edit, to be uploaded that very same night.
